UAM Korea Tech Files Patents for BLIS-D Bleed-Air Decontamination Platform

Korean and U.S. patent applications filed for the BLIS-D platform's high-temperature dry decontamination payload — the bleed-air heat source approach distinct from conventional wet-decontamination logistics.

Wet decontamination's three urban failures — water logistics, runoff, dwell time — were the design parameter, not a marketing message. The patent claims protect the decision to walk away from the conventional doctrine, not the engineering details.

Park Moojin, CEO, UAM Korea Tech

UAM Korea Tech today confirmed that Korean (KIPRIS) and U.S. (USPTO) patent applications have been filed for the BLIS-D platform's high-temperature dry decontamination payload. The applications cover the bleed-air heat source pattern — engine-bleed thermal load adapted to airborne CBRN platform duty without auxiliary heaters or liquid decontaminant supply chains.

What is filed

The patent applications describe:

  • Bleed-air thermal-management system — engine bleed air conditioned to operating temperature for the dry-decontamination payload
  • Mode-selection logic — automated transition between hot-dry, hot-wet, cold-dry, and cold-wet modes based on hazard category and ambient conditions
  • Lattice catalog integration — STANAG 2103 chemical hazard control-area entities consumed for autonomous routing without operator intervention

What is not filed

We are not filing on:

  • The Lattice catalog schema itself (Anduril's IP, contributed back as the _uamkt_extensions partner namespace)
  • The doctrine references the platform respects (NATO ATP-3.8.1, STANAG 2103 — public allied doctrine)
  • The 9 reference sample payloads documented at /software/lattice-extensions/sample-payloads (open contribution)

Why now

Two reasons drive the timing:

Anduril Lattice catalog adoption (April 2026). With platform_type: Animal and the partner-namespace pattern now precedential in the Lattice catalog, the IP envelope around BLIS-D's non-catalog elements becomes the next layer to clarify.

Allied partner discussions. Patent-pending status is a baseline expectation in NDA-bound partner conversations on the BLIS-D platform. Filing publicly closes that requirement.

What partners should know

  • Filing does not change the integration surface — partner audit of the Lattice publishing layer remains open
  • BLIS-D platform conversations under NDA continue without modification
  • The 24-page validation pack referenced on /solutions/defense/blis-d is unaffected and remains available under NDA

About UAM Korea Tech
